In 2008 the company Ectaco known for their revolutionay speech translating devices introduced the firts ebook reader to the general public, the Jet Book. Equipped with a 5 inch LCD screen which uses ambient light instead of a back light, normally seen in LCS screen viewing.
The Jet Book comes in various colors which sets it apart from it’s contemporaries, the new E-ink technology helps reduce eye strain, making this version easier to read. You also can chose how you want your books displayed in either landscape or portrait modes.
It’s main set back is the limited type of formats you can download books in. It limits it’s functionality a bit while competing readers have more enhanced features built in.
